eat pray love - book or film
I recently read in Regina this report about the book "eat pray love" by Elizabeth Gilbert. Then I thought well, I look to the film, but also love to read ... I bought the book (used - my new way to devour books and yet not impoverish it) and what can I say? I read it in a short time - literally absorbed like a sponge. Gilbert describes in this book is a year of her life. A year of travel, of self-discovery and the search for inner peace. Regina
Better than I can not describe it really, so I simply refer you again to the link above.
In some places the book may be a bit lengthy, but each of the 108 chapters there for a reason. I found it in sum simply beautiful. However, it is definitely almost exclusively for women ^ ^ I know now, no man in my circle who want to read a book full of spirituality and relationship would fuss. Clandestinely maybe ... But so?
Then I got me then viewed the film. As always, it is a lot of roles before reading other than it will ultimately be shown in the film. The protagonist even I was a little biased because I already knew several excerpts from the TV.
This is normal. Some roles, however, I missed. Just as other roles have been rewritten for something. I thought that was a pity, but here are a director and screenwriter have already know why ^ ^
Very ugly, but I found that the film is about many things so bad hinweghastete. You could never feel really, really into it. The plot literally raced past me. I also found it puzzling that her nickname in the ashram did not stay the same and the very important for her scenes with Swamiji was taken out completely. If we know the book is not, some seem a bit disjointed and not easy to understand. It has absolutely no feel for how long they stayed where and how broken it was really the beginning of their journey.
short: The movie was OK, but he has not knocked me out. Just because everything vorbeihuschte Sun In contrast to the book was all so predictable. I find the book clearly better. But that is subjective (=
